However along the way I lost myself. Like so many of us, I covered my dissociation and body shame with busyness and accomplishment. After lots of research, education, aha moments and ahhhhs, I realized that pleasure is the secret to not just sexual wellness, but overall heath and wellness. I needed to rewire my nervous system, to come back to my body, to learn how to feel - and all of that could be done, has to be done, through embodied pleasure. This feels like the secret to healing not just ourselves, but the world and our planet! In order share this work more widely (I want to shout it from the rooftops!), in 2016 I founded The Joyful Self Love Institute, offering coaching and workshops designed to help all of us heal and feel - whole, loved and beautiful. Through masturbation, education and sexual skill acquisition, we can lead the lives we desire - sexually satisfying, joyful and connected. I focus on sex positivity, body image and celebrating pleasure in our own bodies and relationships. Newsflash: knowing yourself and your own body makes you a better partner and lover.
