Throughout my life I've taken calculated risks, worked hard and remained open to new ideas. I started college the summer semester after high school, without knowing anyone. I moved to Charlotte after college, knowing only two individuals from my Master's program. Two years later, I moved to Atlanta knowing only my (now) husband and his friends. In 2009, I joined BlackLine at the downturn of the economy as an unexperienced sales executive. There were less than 35 employees, (only one on the east coast of the US) and less than 100 customers. I moved into an alliance role with only my 5 years of Big 4 knowledge as my foundation. Each of these new starts expanded my experiences and knowledge and have ultimately proven that taking calculated risks with an open mind can lead to great success.My experience with a client when I was at the Big 4 is why I chose BL. One day, our client shared with us (with tears in her eyes) that BlackLine changed her life. For the first time in her career, she no longer had to wait at the office to approve work. She was now creating the memories she had dreamed of when she became a mother, attending her son's baseball games. I love learning and learning how to continually challenge thoughts and improve both personally and professionally. Brené Brown (The Call to Courage), Angela Duckworth (Grit), David Allen (Getting Things Done), Greg McKwoen (essentialism) as well as Stephen Dubner and Steven Levitt (Freakonomics) all are tremendous professional resources to start with!Outside of the "office" (I've worked from home since 2009), my priorities are my family, including our two children and dog, and staying active. I am passionate about the full education (emotional and academic) of children. I am active with our school's parent teacher organization to ensure that our community, students, parents and teachers are connected in a more meaningful way than just academic success.
