When you think of accounting, what first comes to your mind? Some may say they think of a large automated machine in which you can put raw financial information, and in return, it will generate your business transactions, taxes, and projections. For me, accounting is more than just counting money, it's about maintaining and enhancing the financial health of a business, organization, or an individual. At Sheridan College, it has taught me that "you" are your greatest advocate. As a third-year accounting major and future accountant, I work hard toward pursuing my goal. I take pride in my work despite how big or small the task is. If you are passionate about something, you will find a way for it to work.Looking at my past achievements and academic projects, I have learned that the importance of accounting goes way beyond calculators and cash. My ability to prepare journal entries, financial statements, and reconciliations are essential skills for an accounting career. However, I believe that accounting is about the people as much as it is about numbers.
