About Amy Lin, Ph.D.

I have a background in policy and policy analyses in education and energy transition. I obtained my doctorate at University of Technology Sydney and was awarded a research scholarship for the thesis project Government and the Renewable Energy Transition – a Comparative Study of Offshore Wind Energy Development in Australia and Taiwan. I adapted primary and secondary research of energy policy, regulations, electricity infrastructure and socio-economic factors. I developed four evidence-based thematic analyses and concluded with key challenges and recommendations facing present day energy transition.Currently, I work as a governance advisor at NSW Treasury’s Office of General Counsel on a contract. I support the drafting of departmental governance guidelines, and review privacy policies and impact assessment management plan based on regulatory requirements. I work effectively to deliver results in a fast-paced team and actively engage in collaborative inter-divisional projects with risk and compliance and communications teams.Prior to joining NSW Treasury, I was a policy analyst at the Centre for Education Statistics and Evaluation (CESE), NSW Department of Education. My responsibilities included conducting research, facilitating program evaluations, analysing key issues and delivering recommendations reports to stakeholders on the state’s education policy reform. The recommendations were effectively adapted by the curriculum division. My career aspiration is to take my passion in renewable energy development to the industry by applying her research skills, critical and analytical skills to help uncover solutions and advance projects to succeed for a sustainable future.I play golf and am an avid runner and have completed a few half and full marathons. I enjoy learning about the latest renewable energy technologies, the energy market, sustainability and circular economy.
