Following deployment of wave one of the Liverpool City Region Impact Fund (see below) my position was broadened to support business development activity. This includes; developing new business opportunities and project management requirements, drafting tenders and fund/ project proposals, developing business cases and cost benefit analysis, leading on project management and the set up of new funds, contributing to business improvement through the capture and documentation of learning, managing project risk and performance, measuring project performance and implementation, managing changes to project scope, schedule and costs, managing key stakeholders relations and managing a small portfolio of investment cases.

Lead responsibility within the Investment Team for the set up, implementation and management of the Liverpool City Region Impact Fund. This included; setting up the operational processes and procedures, managing stakeholder relationships, managing the application, assessment, decision making and disbursement process, undertaking direct assessment and portfolio management work, meeting European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) reporting and audit requirements and overseeing evaluation.The pilot Liverpool City Region Impact Fund was launched in 2014 and draws on funds from the ERDF 2007-13 programme and Social Investment Business (SIB). The fund provides unsecured loans of between £50-£250k to social sector organisations in the Liverpool City Region, to help them grow and scale up their economic and social impact.

Successfully applied for external funding from charitable trust and foundations and the public sector. Delivered charged for bespoke training and management consultancy services for social sector organisations and housing associations. Oversaw areas of operational management e.g. administration, membership services, IT, resources and supplies.

Co-ordinated a Big Lottery Fund funded organisational capacity building programme for social sector organisations in the London Borough of Lambeth. This included; overseeing contract delivery, and providing one-to-one organisational capacity building support and delivering an annual programme of training and events for over 150 social sector organisations. In addition, co-ordinated the final six months of a European Social Fund (ESF) and Learning and Skills Council (LSC) funded partnership programme to help connect the social sector to training opportunities.
