Road Rehabilitation and Safety Project (RRSP) is a project of support of international financing institutions (World Bank, European Investment Bank and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development) to the Government of the Republic of Serbia in implementation of the National State Road Network Rehabilitation Program. The institution in charge for the Project implementation is the Public Enterprise “Roads of Serbia” (PERS). Within the PERS there is a Project Implementation Team (PIT) responsible for implementation of all necessary activities and actions for successful management and completion of the Project. During the performance of this assignment, the PIT is assisted by relevant departments of the enterprise and works in alliance with other stakeholder institutions of the Government of the Republic of Serbia. Besides implementation of Works on heavy maintenance of roads, the Project includes activities, procedures and processes that advance contracting the Works. Monitoring of the Environmental and Social Impact on the Road Rehabilitation and Safety Project (RRSP); Audit of the Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs) prepared by the Designers as part of the Main Designs for Heavy Maintenance of the State Roads and Contractors’ Environmental Monitoring Plans (CEMPs); Verification of the Designers’ and Contractors’ fulfillment of the issued conditions by the stakeholder institutions within the ESMPs and CEMPs; Preparation of the Abbreviated Resettlement Action Plan (ARAP); Communication with the WB’s Environmental and Social Safeguard Specialists and preparation of the ES Reports for the IFI’s; Control of the Road Environmental and Social Safeguard Consultant’s performance in charge for Expert Supervision of the Rehabilitation Works; Control of Contractors’ compliance with the ES measures prescribed in accordance with the RPF, EMFD, signed Contracts and IFI’s procedures, guidelines and Operational Policies; Control of the performance of the required public presentations of the Main Designs and ESMPs, public consultations, necessary expropriations; Control of the Grievance Mechanism’s establishment and functioning during the Work performance on road rehabilitations.

Project "Construction of the Frontal Toll Station Complex on the IA Class State Road Number 1 (Highway E-75) at km 605+635 and Base for Road Maintenance in CM Vrčin, Grocka Municipality, Belgrade" was a project of national importance. Works were being performed by company "Strabag", while Expert Supervision of the construction was performed by the company "Šidprojekt". Investor's role was to ensure successful implementation of the Project in due time i.e. to control performance of the realization of the Contract via Expert Supervision and cooperate through their Representatives with Contractors on all issues that were significant for the successful implementation of the Contract.
