I am a marine scientist with over 15 years’ experience in marine ecology and applied (laboratory and field-based) research in environmental and fisheries science in estuarine, coastal and oceanic ecosystems both in tropical and temperate regions. My experience also includes project management, science coordination, fisheries management and marine/estuarine consulting. Research work includes fisheries acoustics, estuarine ecology and hydrodynamics with emphasis on larval fishes, deep ocean ecology, zooplankton ecology and hydroacoustics. My exposure to diverse range of research projects have included participating in 11 vessel-based field marine surveys lasting between 10 and 30 days; leading monthly estuarine field-based surveys and consulting work in northern Tasmania, and management of the Torres Strait Tropical Rock Lobster fishery and establishing a larval fish observing network in Australia.
