Proud to be a former educator...Before entering real estate I was an English language teacher, serving students in an urban, elementary setting. It was deeply meaningful work and I loved interacting and helping the students to grow and learn. Despite leaving teaching, I still have a strong desire to serve my community in an impactful way. Through real estate, I hope to be able to give back to the schools and organizations that lay the foundation for our strong communities all over the metro area.

- Produce a curriculum, for Intermediate/Advanced English language learners, targeted on conversation activities that provide a communicative, engaging class focused on speaking and listening fluency.- Observe and interact with the students- Pilot lessons during the writing process- Organize and provide all materials for future volunteer teachers

-Trained International Baccalaureate teacher-Experience with SIOP, English Now!, Co-teaching, Guided Reading and Workshop Model-Worked with classroom teachers to develop language objectives and SIOP based lessons-Created and taught content based English language lessons to develop academic language -Used data driven instruction and curriculum planning for a focus group of 35 ELL students-Used WIDA to assess and monitor 111 students’ English language development-Volunteer President of the Reading Well Plan Committee-Mentored a teacher new to the school. Performed observations and met with her regularly.-6-8th Grade After School Program Teacher-Head Coach of Middle School Girls Soccer-Lead professional development presentations on ACCESS, SIOP and interactive activities-Volunteer chaperone on the school’s Global Connections Trip to Thailand (GCT)-Wrote an article published in the Hmong Times Newspaper about GCT

(Contracted for two, one month sessions)-Taught preparation courses for the Minnesota Teacher Licensure Examination, Basic Skills Reading and Writing Assessments, for ELL teacher candidates-Conducted and wrote curriculum based on pre and post assessments-Created online homework lessons to be complete between courses-Published as second author under Dr. Jean Strait in ‘Service Learning and Educating in Challenging Contexts: International Perspectives.’

-Planned and orchestrated daily literacy based lesson plans-Assessed students using Pre-IPT, IGDIs and Developmental Observation Reports-Recruited, organized and supervised volunteers in the classroom-Created and lead ELL parent involvement lessons-Designed the Summer Sibling Program, using AmeriCorp VISTAS, to prevent summer slide for the siblings of my preschool students during the summer months. -Lead training session for tutors in the Twin Cities area on differentiation for ELLs-In charge of book donations for the MLC Children’s Program -Part of a promotional video about the school.
