Designed and conducted impactful research projects that advance Color Of Change's policy priorities at the local, state, and federal levels to drive successful campaigns to win government action on behalf of Black communities. Key Accomplishments:• Spearheaded research and analysis for Color Of Change’s federal Policy Blueprint to End Carceral Profiteering report and produced supplementary content such as talking points for surrogates, congressional fact sheets, core messaging, and social media content. • Conducted strategic research underpinning Color Of Change’s “Keep Families Connected” campaign resulting in the passage of the Martha Wright-Reed Just and Reasonable Communications Act of 2022

Conducted research on criminal justice and democracy-based issues ranging from ending prison labor to safeguarding voting access to holding district attorneys accountable. Employed investigative tools such as analyzing campaign finance data, public opinion research data, SEC financial filings, internet-based sources, and filing freedom of information requests. Drafted and oversaw the creation of internal and external written materials and visual presentations such as policy briefings, memorandums, reports, microsites, videos, talking points, and presentations.Key Accomplishments:• Co-created and led the “Safety Not Fear” campaign to redefine public safety and expand options for safety in Minneapolis including conducting public opinion polling, crafting core campaign messaging, drafting talking points for surrogates as well as website and social media content, working with designers and web developers to create branding and visual identities, and collaborating on in-person, on-the-ground community organizing events.• Helped move Color Of Change’s Police Foundations: A Corporate-Sponsored Threat to Democracy and Black Lives report from vision to finished product by producing research, copy-editing, and fact-checking the content.• Developed Color Of Change’s Police Union Playbook microsite including conducting the underlying research, crafting the microsite content, and overseeing site design.
