Part of a REU program in the Chen lab under Professor Jiajia Chen, learning skills needed to help meet processing innovation demands in the food industry.

Developing & testing microbial electrolysis cells (MEC) to extract electrons from wastewater in order to produce hydrogen. Assists in the set-up and maintenance of the bioreactors, and conducts experiments to study conversion of food waste. Electro-Active Technologies is developing technologies for conversion of waste such as algal biomass and food waste into bioproducts and biofuel.

Part of the Middle School Outreach committee at SWE@UW. Helped design K-12 friendly engineering activities, aiming to educate students about the different fields of engineering, and building basic engineering skills.

Team captain for high school Science Olympiad team. Managed team rosters & coordinated team logistics at competitions. Coordinated district STEM education and competitions for K-12 students.

CAD designed a test fixture used to measure paper-tire surface friction in order to determine optimal printer tire design. Used JMP and Excel to analyze friction data collected over 6 weeks. Presented report to R&D on tire recommendations for printer production.
