I currently work with about 200 at-risk high school students who are interested in attending college. I prepare students through hosting interactive workshops, scheduling individual check-ins, taking students on campus tours, and mentoring. At MDC, we are passionate about creating vibrant communities and our vision is "to develop and manage innovative programs that promote self-sufficiency and remove individuals and families from poverty." I participate in this by removing barriers that students from lower income families may face in attending and graduating from post-secondary institutions.

I worked with hundreds of people from all over the United States who came to Tacoma to participate in City Central's conferences. I handled all the registration from payments to housing accommodations, including preparing the building to be as welcoming as possible. My job was to take care of all the details so that the participants could be present and comfortable. This position required me to think on my feet and to remain calm during unexpected and frustrating situations. I organized personal prayer times for all the participants involved and became adept at multitasking and interpersonal communication as I emceed and hosted the 4 day conference about 7 times a year.
