My name is Ana. I am a top Law graduate with a research focus on political comedy in the West. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Law (Class 1 with distinction, GPA 4, CRE 9.1/10) from Unifacisa, a renowned university in my hometown Campina Grande, Brazil. As an undergraduate, I published an article on American politics and democracy as well as a book chapter on women's rights and literature. My undergraduate dissertation focused on the international conundrums of climate justice and it received the highest grade, praise from examiners and offer for publishing. Following my graduation, I was accepted at the Oxford School of Climate Change, part of the Oxford Climate Society, where I learned directly from several scholars from the University of Oxford.Furthermore, I was accepted at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) for a short course in international relations, politics and media. Living briefly in the UK, I worked as a film critic for the renowned Cambridge Film Festival. Currently, I volunteer at the 'Eu Quero Contar' NGO working in data protection and am an active mobilisation member at the Latin American Climate Lawyers Initiative for Mobilising Action (LACLIMA), the first think-tank of people with a legal background focused on climate change in Latin America. Extracurricularly, I have achieved a C2 score on the IELTS Academic test; volunteered for environmental causes such as Penguin Watch, Climate History Australia; completed the Film & TV Industry Essentials course at New York University (NYU); participated in the Literatura Inglesa book club to discuss English literature (from Shakespeare to James Baldwin), as a teenager founded a Christmas charity to foster food donation to a local organisation, and, as a self-taught endeavour, studied R and statistics.Writing for the multicultural digital outlet Screen Speck about cinema and television, I focused on media that involved contemporary political topics. I interviewed Justin Kim Woosok, director of the short film Sarajin, and talked about climate displacement and the role of the arts in politics and advocacy. I am also the founder of 'Writing in the Dark', a now archived Substack newsletter focused on climate, culture and politics. As hobbies, I enjoy painting, dancing ballet, Bruce Springsteen and Greco-Roman literature.
