The BackgroundUnited Soccer Coaches provides National, Advanced National, Premier, and National Youth Diploma courses for soccer coaches.During lockdown and travel restrictions coaches were unable to travel or attend courses.Ian Barker, Director of Coaching Education, and his team made use of the iSportsAnalysis learning management system to provide their National, Advanced National, Premier, and National Youth Diploma courses to coaches online.These courses were attended remotely by coaches from all over the world.The ResultsUnited Soccer Coaches were able to host their courses on iSportsAnalysis and train hundreds of coaches from all over the world without them having to travel.As part of their training course attendees were asked to analyse different aspects of football (soccer) games.The games were hosted on iSportsAnalysis and each course attendee was able to individually analyze games using the iSportsAnalysis Sports Performance Analysis services.Staff coaches were able to sign into iSportsAnalysis, review and assess each course attendee’s analysis, and they were able to communicate privately online.This process has made Sports Performance Analysis available to coaches who would otherwise have to spend thousands of dollars on software.The ability to communicate with course attendees online has made training coaches much more efficient and effective. It has also saved United Soccer Coaches and the course attendees travel expenses etc.The ProcessUnited Soccer Coaches uploaded their course videos and course related documents (PDFs, PowerPoints etc.) to the iSportsAnalysis learning management system.Course attendees had access to the iSportsAnalysis Sports Performance Analysis services which enabled them to analyze games that were part of their course.Their analysis was unique to them and was only viewable by themselves and Staff Coaches.Using iSportsAnalysis Coaches Corner, communication between the attendees' and staff coach private.

BackgroundThe Scottish Football Association (Scottish FA) hosts a full suite of licence courses for coaches wanting to build on their skills, enhance their coach development and advance their careers. During lockdown, coaches were unable to come together in a central location to complete teaching practice and coaching assessments, and due to travel restrictions, coaches were unable to travel to Scotland to attend new courses.Greig Paterson, Head of Coach Education & Development, and his team approached iSportsAnalysis with a view to enable their coaches to complete course curriculum work, and assessments, online.The success of this led to the Scottish FA being able to host full Licence courses on iSportsAnalysis, with coaches from Scotland and all over the world able to continue with their learning and development despite the challenges faced throughout the pandemic.The ResultsThe Scottish FA was able to give vital feedback, support, and assistance to hundreds of coaches from all over the world without them having to travel to Scotland during the pandemic.The courses involved coaches uploading videos of their coaching sessions which were then assessed by staff tutors and assessors. Sessions could then be analyzed by peers and tutors alike, allowing for arguably a richer learning experience than course participants may have received in person.Coaches were asked to analyze football (soccer) games, as well as their own training sessions, and those of peers. These were hosted on iSportsAnalysis and each coach was able to individually analyze a plethora of games and training sessions using the iSportsAnalysis Sports Performance Analysis services.Staff coaches were able to communicate privately with each coach online using the iSportsAnalysis “Coaches Corner”. This made the process of assessing coaches effective, quick, and easy.

St Mary's University is one of London's top-performing sports institutions.Their Sport Science degree is endorsed by the British Association of Sport and Exercise Scientists (BASES) (pathway specific) and many staff are active professional members of BASES.Using iSportsAnalysis to teach Sports Performance AnalysisSt Mary's University teach Performance Analysis as part of their Sports Science degree course. iSportsAnalysis has made it possible for classrooms of students to individually "tag" sports matches as part of their performance analysis modules.Students now have hands on experience uploading match videos, creating Code Windows and "tagging" their games.This was previously unaffordable because of the "per user" license costs of other software. iSportsAnalysis provided video analysis to all 10 teams participating in the Six week Brutal Fruit Netball Premier League tournament.Our aim was to give all the teams instant access to in-tournament competitive intelligence on both themselves and their opposition.iSportsAnalysis provided accurate data and insightful interactive reports.The head umpire was able to rate the competition umpires during the Six week tournament and use this information to decide who were the best umpires to officiate the finals.The Netball South African selectors and SPAR Proteas coaches had access to all the games for selection purposes.The ProcessThe analyst live filmed and coded each game, and uploaded the footage and analysis timeline to the iSportsAnalysis platform immediately after the final whistle blew.Players, coaches, umpires and selectors could sign into their iSportsAnalysis channel using any device, as long as they were connected to the Internet. They had access to the match footage and timelines of coded events. Paul's workflow before iSportsAnalysisI have been providing clubs with video analysis for the last 6 years, and up to now my workflow was:1. Film the game.2. Upload the full match video to YouTube or Vimeo.3. Analyse or Code the game with video analysis software.4. Produce stats reports manually.5. Export key clips into separate videos and upload these again online with a password.6. Send the links to the match clips to coaches using messenger, WhatsApp, and email.7. Coaches would forward the video clips on to the players.8. Coaches would download video clips for meetings and training sessions.The outcomeNot only have I halved the time I spend on each game, but I have also upgraded the service I provide. I now deliver packages to clubs that are very professional and set up to provide tailor-made statistical reports which are interactive.I am able to deliver key messages to players using Coaches Corner which enables players and coaches to discuss aspects of their match with each other online. The coaches and players have the option to create highlights of their matches that they can share with each other.The playersThe players are delighted with the service and are feeling much more engaged.They have a better understanding of the stats and, more and more they recognise their importance. This has only been made possible because iSportsAnalysis.Match reportsThe match reports are interactive, now the coaches and players can click on any stat and watch video clips of those moments.The way forwardI think this is a huge way forward for clubs and teams, and because of the price point in relation to competitors, iSportsAnalysis really is enabling clubs at all levels, including those on smaller budgets, to engage with performance analysis.
