I have an avid interest in public health and policy. Currently, I am an incoming medical student at the Duke University School of Medicine. As a Documented Dreamer, I often found myself limited in terms of the opportunities that were open to me, and so I decided to take matters into my own hands. As an active member of my youth advocacy group Improve the Dream, I fight for the 200,000 kids in my situation that have largely been ignored by both sides of the aisle. Through active advocacy and a strong media strategy, we have represented ourselves in Congress and provided a path of hope for the innocent children in this country who have done nothing wrong.
