I work on a variety of educational media projects and programs, including a NASA-funded K-12 STEM education project, Bringing the Universe to America's Classrooms (BUAC).I manage our digital platform update efforts, overseeing the development of new tools, updates to the internal Interactive Lesson Platform, and prioritizing and requesting changes to PBS's LearningMedia platform.I manage a team in this role, including editorial and production roles, as well as the translation manager overseeing a large effort to translate all the resources in the BUAC project into Spanish in order to better support English Learners.I developed and rolled out new processes and tools to the WGBH Education team, including a bug tracking system (JIRA) for content and platform issues and a project management information and task management system (Confluence).

In this role, I partnered closely with the product team to develop and carry out overall content strategy.I managed a team of 6-8 content developers on Humanities/Social Sciences higher ed products, through all phases--customer research, design sprints, defining requirements, developing content process, managing content development, implementation, and content production.My team worked with authors but also developed media, hiring and managing a variety of vendors and freelancers to create content. My team was diverse with backgrounds including subject-matter expertise, instructional design, and media and content development. I managed a team (often changing in makeup itself!) through a period of transition and fundamental change, helping to develop new processes and trainings. I also worked with an array of cross-functional teams to get things done, anticipating and solving problems as they arose.My team developed innovative interactive maps and timelines, adaptive/customized quizzing, simulations, worked with a new technology for implementing meaningful writing exercises, developed new approaches to video content, and adjusted our approach to assessment to match the needs of the market, among other accomplishments.

I coached my team in this role to develop content strategy for each new and continuing client, leveraging their strengths and improving on their weaknesses. I managed the four-person content team, producing marketing material for clients of this full-service digital marketing agency. I also oversaw the social media team, working with a new manager and young team to develop best practices and improve processes. Client content needs included website content, email blasts, printed marketing materials, press releases, and blog posts. The social media team managed client strategy and SM accounts on an ongoing basis. In addition to services for my own clients, overall editorial responsibility for my teams' content, and managing client relationships, I managed workflow and process and worked with cross-functional teams to design and implement client marketing campaigns and overall strategy.

As the list owner and internal market specialist for the audio engineering list, I acquired and developed all print and multimedia content and led the team who helped bring that content to market. I originated the project and list marketing messaging used in all audience communications and developed strategic partnerships to produce content for the list and leverage our limited marketing resources. I communicated complex topics, book ideas, and market information to marketing and sales colleagues, giving them the tools to better sell the list content. Headed up the subject-area blog, increasing readership by 150%. Published 16-20 titles a year on this list, managing an associate acquisitions editor and an editorial project manager.

I worked within an editorial team to develop list strategy and acquire new content.
