As the Director of the Outdoor Recreation Division for the State of New Mexico, I am dedicated to advancing sustainable outdoor recreation opportunities that benefit communities, empower youth, and foster economic growth across the state. With over 28 years of experience in marketing, tourism, and strategic program development, I am passionate about supporting accessible, equitable outdoor experiences that connect people to the natural beauty of New Mexico.Throughout my career, I have spearheaded initiatives that support small businesses, enhance community engagement, and drive tourism in Northern New Mexico. Before joining the state, I served as the first Director of Marketing and Tourism for the Town of Taos, where I built a dynamic tourism strategy that elevated the region as a premier visitor destination. My work included creating public-private partnerships, supporting regional events, and implementing marketing campaigns highlighting the Enchanted Circle region's unique and diverse cultural and natural assets.I am particularly passionate about working at the intersection of community, environment, and youth development. My role allows me to advocate for policies and initiatives that enhance outdoor access for underserved communities, support local economies, and promote conservation efforts.Outside of my professional life, you’ll find me fly fishing, trail running, and exploring the wilderness that I consider my sanctuary. These personal experiences fuel my dedication to uplifting the outdoor economy and all that the outdoors offers—from promoting health and well-being to fostering stewardship, developing an outdoor workforce, and building a sustainable economy.
