I have 5yrs and 5mnths of experience in caregiving for kids with special needs and disabilities such as Atusim, Down Syndrome, ADHAD, and Cerebral Palsy. I provide in home care for the child and also help dress if needed, bathe, eat, help with homework and other responsibilities if asked by the parent. I also worked for IHSS(In Home Supportive System) taking care of elderly with Dementia, Parkinson's, Alzheimer, and Schizophrenia. I would help them bathe, dress, feed them, give them medication as needed, drive to doctor appointments, meal preparation, Transfer them from chair to bed if necessary, and offer them companionship. I also just recently worked as a DSP (Direct Support Professional) for Cole Vocational Services in Covina. In addition, DSPs support therapeutic and behavioral plans, working closely with our clinical staff, to enhance the quality of life for those we support.
