Technology is meant to support society, and there are opportunities for tech to support underserved communities, such as art and humanities. My PhD in Computer science/Human-Computer Interaction along with my training in costuming and craftsmanship lets me research, craft and design technologies and interactive experiences for the most challenging domains, including martial arts, costume design, and online craft learning, awarded as top 10 research at SSU. I am an expert in virtual reality, maker culture, crowdsourcing and qualitative methods, with over 20+ publications and deliverables. One of my passions is empowering people to craft, make and build; from laser cutters to handsewing; as an assistant professor, I can teach, research and craft technologies suited to the needs of users and stakeholders.
