Dr. Ana Masara binti Ahmad Mokhtar obtained her bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences from Universiti Putra Malaysia and completed her PhD in biochemistry at the University of Cambridge in 2020. Her doctoral research focused on the oncogenic kinase ACK and its effects on RhoGDI regulation, investigating the stability, activity, and protein interactions of small RhoGTPases using molecular biology techniques such as cloning, mutagenesis, western blotting, and co-immunoprecipitation, as well as kinase and ubiquitination assays.Since joining USM nearly 4 years ago, Dr. Ana has established a research group dedicated to small G proteins. Their work aims to uncover and utilize these proteins as biomarkers and therapeutic targets in cancer and immunological disorders, particularly primary immunodeficiency diseases.
