I was the first Product Manager at Twitter and employee #25. As the company grew to 600+ employees, I got the opportunity to work on a number of foundational products, both consumer and business. In 2009, I started advertising products at Twitter. I recruited a team, starting with a small group of engineers. I worked with them, a researcher, and a designer to conceptualize, build and launch Twitter's three ad products - Promoted Tweets, Promoted Trends and Promoted Accounts. I launched our ad products in search, mobile and 3rd party sites and apps. In the early days, apart from product management, I also helped out with customer support, product marketing and sales. It was awesome! I continued to scale the ad platform in 2011 and worked on a key consumer product. In 2009, I worked on a number of internal and consumer facing features such link shortening, verified profiles, and commercial accounts.I have presented at several conferences such as Web 2.0 Expo, IAB Annual Leadership Meeting, 140 Twitter Conference, Salesforce Social Media, and the Smash Summit among others.Fun fact: when space was limited, I used a telephone booth as a conference room to run an online webinar!Patents: Named inventor in predictive algorithm patent.

I worked for the CPO of the Medical Devices business (one of the 3 main business units at J&J) to analyze and improve reverse auctions in the procurement process. The goal was to get suppliers to compete against one another in live, transparent auctions to lower the price of commodities that J&J would have to pay.

I along with my co-founders built a website to help people connect directly with primary healthcare providers in their city. I wrote much of the code, and onboarded a number of doctors but the startup didn't work out. I learned a lot from this experience - mostly that a website or idea or technology by itself doesn't make a business.
