I worked for more than 10 years at the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development of Mauritius and for several years at the Ministry of Energy and Public Utilities. Excellent exposure to all the environmental issues such as Climate Change, Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM), Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP), Water and Wastewater, Energy, Forestry, Fisheries and Land Use, Gained experience with the Environmental Information System (EIS), set up by consultants where data and indicators are used on a web based platform. Wide experience with data collection exercises, analysis and reporting, within the Environment sector including Utilities such as Power producers (both public and private - IPPs) and Water related organizations including productions, distributions, wastewater and irrigation related organizations. Developed good working relationships with the organizations where visits were effected regularly regarding data and operational/technical issues. Attended several workshops/seminars with the stakeholders in the Environment sector. Input provided for preparing energy and water policies. Member of the National Steering committee on the Project “Removal of Barriers to Energy Efficiency in Building in Mauritius’ where several sub components aim at achieving energy efficiency in various ways. Assisted consultants in preparing Water Master Plan. Member of committee on wastewater audit for monitoring water quality.
