Works in Molecular Detection and Characterization, administering CLIA high complexity testing to detect Influenza, CRO, Measles, Mumps, Malaria, Monkeypox, Norovirus, RVP and additional respiratory viruses, including SARS-CoV-2, by using extraction and molecular PCR assays.

Tasked to assess, assist and encourage the students in the learning processes. Will work with students individually or in small groups and provide a variety of services from study skills, note-taking strategies, test preparation, homework assistance, and to grasp new concepts.

Served as an assistant coach for jv and varsity girls basketball. Was tasked with assisting the head coaches in running a sports program, often acting as a delegate to specific roles with training. In addition, responsibilities included helping with training the players, assessing opposing teams and performing various administrative duties.

Was tasked with handling aircraft baggage, as well as loading and unloading luggage onto the airplane and guiding the aircraft to and from their gates. In addition, responsibilities included maintaining the cleanliness and guidelines of the planes.

Was granted the opportunity to be a clinical observer for an Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr. Loughran at Virginia Commonwealth University. They allowed access to both the clinical and operation room settings. In addition, I learned and observed many techniques such as knee arthroscopies with meniscus repair, partial synovectomy, knee arthroplasty, acl reconstruction, rotator cuff repair and more.

Was tasked with managing money, engaging with and serving customers, operating computer systems, and promoting sales and services that could benefit customer needs.

Conducted research on phage discovery and bioinformatics. Was tasked with reviewing scientific literature and conducting experimental analyses to contribute to the expertise of my mentor. Concluding the internship, a culminating 10-15 minute oral presentation was presented; completed a research poster summarizing the internship; and submitted a research paper documenting my research experience.In addition, the opportunity to be a mentor to middle school students that attended the Math Science and Innovation Center was put into place. During the time with the students, they were exposed to simple lab techniques and procedures that were completed during the execution of my research.
