My passion is working with C-level executives, researchers, and leaders across business, academic, philanthropic, and policy areas to bring diverse viewpoints and perspectives to effect meaningful positive change. I have been doing this for the past three decades across five different continents in a broad range of industry sectors. I enjoy creating the right environment and nurturing individual wellbeing for my teams. Throughout my three decades in the professional world my ideas and actions were strongly entrenched in the ancient Indian philosophy of Advaita. More recently, I have been bringing some of this ancient wisdom to the business and scientific world and looking at the Indian scriptures through a scientific and business lens. I started my career in Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the 80’s and 90’s, building real-time decision-making and simulation systems in the aerospace, defense, and telecommunications sectors. Bringing my deep expertise in AI to solve practical problems, while at the same time bringing academic and theoretical rigor to step back and formulate the foundational theories is something that I enjoyed doing as the Chief Research Scientist of Australian AI Institute (AAII). During this period, I wrote over fifty refereed papers, co-edited four books, and won several awards. My entrepreneurial spirit led me from the technology world to the business world with my MBA at Melbourne Business School. Changing countries and careers at the same time I moved to London as a strategy consultant. Advising senior leaders in UK, Europe, Middle-East, Africa, and Asia in telecommunications, financial services and retail sectors honed my business skills in a variety of disciplines – 3G roll-out across emerging and developed countries, Basel II implementation for banks, and online B2B exchanges – just to name a few. I moved to US in 2006, to serve clients in the banking and insurance sectors. Leveraging my experience in technology and strategy consulting, I brought the two together to establish practices in big data, analytics, and AI to solve hard and novel problems. This led to some of the early business applications of agent-based simulation for strategic decision-making, use of behavioral economics in simulating individual and company behavior, computer vision and natural language processing for mundane, but high-value business use cases. Starting from 2016, I led research and thought leadership into Responsible AI – working with policy making bodies across the globe formulating national AI strategies and applying AI for societal good.
