I am excited to integrate a minor in the forensic psychology field for undergraduates in the foreseeable future, and am passionate about delivering engaging instruction and incorporating experiential activities to support student growth and development.

Tamara, as President and Founder, is responsible for board development and talent retention, planning fundraising events and implanting these unique projects. Working collaboratively with the board, other tasks include maintenance of social media and website, and donation requests. Guided by the principles of Angels Take Flight, Tamara eagerly and passionately approaches working collaboratively with families, the community, and agencies to acquire and distribute transitional items. Other talents include grant writing, advertising, becoming and staying educated regarding general nonprofit management, and other tasks that often arise. ABOUT ANGELS TAKE FLIGHT:Our goal is to restore dignity, pride, and positive esteem in children when they face traumas and transitions in a multitude of ways. As a licensed clinician trained as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Tamara has served the community in multiple mental health settings. Having been a clinician since 2006, she was licensed in 2008. Familiar with licensing requirements, Tamara acts in an ethical manner with all clients and maintains her licenses through continuing education requirements. Skilled in Outpatient Mental Health clinics, the Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital Setting, Psychological Crisis Services, School Settings, and Outreach services, Tamara has served a variety of populations. Trained to work with individuals, couples, families, and children, Tamara enjoys reaching a multitude of people and hopes to guide people in their life journey through therapy.

Dedicated lecturer committed to the success of all students. Enthusiastically delivers instruction in courses. Devoted to seeking and pursuing experiential activities to facilitate the professional development of students.

Prior to matriculating into her new role as Director of Psychology, Tamara exercised her skills in the classroom as often as opportunities were presented to her - at times, she was teaching up to four times a week in courses such as: Abnormal Psychology, Human Development, Ethics, Introductory courses in Psychology and Sociology, a Senior Capstone course in Psychology, Marital and Family Systems, Domestic Violence, Psychology of Cultural Diversity, Social Psychology, and Human Sexuality. In addition, she designed and implemented the first Positive Psychology course on campus.

As the Director of Psychology Programs, Tamara approaches tasks eagerly and creatively. While overseeing the Psychology program, she works to assess program learning outcomes, course competencies, and strives to ensure the learning objectives are indeed met through a multifaceted approach in each Psychology course. Tamara is dedicated to the development of students and faculty in an accelerated program working with non traditional students. Tamara ensures the enrollment, quality, and development of learning while on campus, online, and in blended formats.In hiring all Psychology faculty, Tamara strives to reach students in the classroom by way of inspiring faculty in a multitude of ways including professional development opportunities. Additionally, Tamara is passionate about continuing to reach students through teaching and advising.Integrating her passion for education and philanthropic work, Tamara also oversees a grant, Lead To Succeed, that works closely with community members to inspire young women in the area. Outcomes of the grant include working to grow women's leadership, increase involvement with community service, and a focus on the importance of education, career, and personal development.
