• Designed and implemented a new feature that allowed users to use pattern based rules to automatically assign appropriate labels to workloads to enforce security policy.

• Parallelized a C program simulating biological neural networks.
• Developed both multithreaded and multiprocess implementations in C using the OpenMP and MPIlibraries, and was able to achieve a significant, scalable speedup over the serial version that scaled linearly with the number.

• Worked alone on project which attempted to improve the sensitivity of detection of mutations relevant to Acute Myeloid Leukemia in Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) DNA samples.
• Used the Python scikit-learn library to create an SVM (Support Vector Machine) model that categorized DNA reads based on features such as flanking regions of the mutation.
• Developed a script which identified possible mutations using fuzzy string matching and Levenshtein distances using Python and bioinformatics tools such as sickle, bowtie2, and samtools.
• This led to up to a 20 percent increase in the rate of detection compared to the existing clinical assay.
