Currently, I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Artificial Intelligence Institute, University of Waikato, NZ, focusing on the applications of machine learning techniques in data streams adaptation and interpretation for weak signals and extreme events. Before this, I was a Postdoctoral Researcher with the Chair of Autonomous Systems and Mechatronics at the Friedrich‑Alexander‑Universität Erlangen‑Nürnberg (FAU), Germany. At FAU, my work focused on design and development of bi‑directional Human‑Machine Interfaces for rehabilitation, robotic manipulation, and interactions with machines and computer applications (including virtual and augmented reality) to increase the intuitiveness of task execution and provide means for an effective interaction. During my Ph.D. studies, I created advanced machine learning schemes for electromyography‑ based (EMG) interfaces to efficiently decode continuous human motion for implementing shared control frameworks using EMG‑based interfaces and external sensors. My main interest is in employing machine learning techniques for data visualisation and understanding to optimise system performance.
