As the Assistant Director of Community Engagement, I am accountable to coordinate efforts to build a community of faculty, staff, and students at UMD who are passionate about digital accessibility.

- Leading the implementation and evaluation of the IT Accessibility Initiative for the Division of IT and UMD campus. Supporting the implementation of the UMD 3-year IT accessibility Plan and IT accessibility services, projects, initiatives, and grants.

Teaching undergraduate courses online and blended in adapted physical activity and inclusion of people with disabilities through sports. Currently, I teach a course entitled: Adapted Physical Activity: Empowering people with disabilities to lead an active and healthy lifestyle. As one of the course outcomes, students create a proposal for an adapted physical activity program! Several of my students implemented the program they designed during the course (e.g., adapted badminton for children with autism, adapted yoga, adapted swimming, and adapted dance) to our local community!!

Interim position | Leading the Learning Technology Design team of instructional technologists/designers to enable UMD faculty to implement and use all learning technology tools available on our Campus. We support our 4,000+ instructors to deliver high quality online, blended and in person learning.

I served as chair of PCDI for 6 years, leading initiatives on advocacy, disability rights and taking our accessibility and disability services to the next level. I had the privilege to work closely with the University of Maryland President, Provost and Vice President's to advise on issues of concern to our faculty, staff, students and visitors with disabilities. TerpAccess Disability Network had the mission of establishing an inclusive environment where all students, staff, faculty and visitors with disabilities feels welcomed and supported at UMD. The program included the creation of the disability community listserv, Disability Awareness and Advocacy Training delivered to UMD community, and train the trainer program where UMD undergraduate students where trained on how to facilitate the training.

- Director of the Kinesiology and Physical Education Majors (1000+ students). Administrative accountabilities include head of advising, supervising a team of 5 advisors; coordination of department learning outcomes assessment, curriculum development, faculty merit reviews, recruitment initiatives, student affairs from admissions to graduation, alumni.

- Coordinator of Physical Education Teacher Education Program; teaching; Advising; student teaching supervision; NASPE/NCATE accreditation.

USAID Sports for All. Disability Rights through Sports Project in Brazil. Partner: BlazeSports America. In this project, I had the opportunity to work with BlazeSports America to write the USAID grant, develop, manage, design and lead workshops/programs in the area of inclusion of individuals with disabilities in sports and physical activity. Partner with Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo special education sectors working on strategies for inclusion of individuals with disabilities in regular education. During this 2-year project we trained over 500 coaches and staff in the sport sector on how to include the disabled community in their current sports, fitness and physical activity settings.

At California State University Northridge, I coordinated the Adapted Physical Education credential program. Responsibilities included teaching, advising, student teaching supervision at the local LAUSD school district, and maintaining the California State Adapted PE accreditation.
