After teaching English for 10 years in the U.S. and internationally, I shifted my focus to the nonprofit space. Currently I am the Program Manager for one of the largest synagogues in NC’s Triangle Area, orchestrating events and programming through planning out logistics, coordinating with vendors, and creating memorable experiences for our 500 Jewish families. I love what I do and pride myself on being an integral part of a closely-knit team. In my spare time, I write poetry. I was the Poetry Heritage Fellow at George Mason, where I completed my MFA, and I also hold a master's in "Language & Literacy" from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. My first full-length poetry collection, Engrams: Seven Years in Asia, won the Lena Shull Book Award. You can check out my publications at www.anapugatch.com.
