Leading a world-class society was very challenging. In achieving great success for the society, a lot of sacrifices of time and energy had to be done. However, it is very pleasant when my family, SPE-UTM SC has been awarded as The Most Outstanding Student Chapter for 2015 by SPE International. All hard work pays off and this will never be a reality without the cooperation and support of SPE-UTM SC members. A dynamic project for petroleum engineering undergraduates. The team, simply known as "PROGRESS" was the best team in terms of teamwork and professionalism that I have ever had the pleasure of working with. It consist of 6 final year undergraduate students who were assigned a project under the supervision of Dr. Muhammad A. Manan, Senior Lecturer of Petroleum Engineering Department, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.Appointed as the Project Manager by the team has driven me to give the best out of the best. The roles are to lead the discussion, planning, execute and selecting the best solutions for the development of the field. Monitoring the progress of team members is quite challenging as we are still studying other subjects simultaneously with the projects. The key to success is to have a good cooperation from others and a strategic planning on resolving conflicts as well as developing schedules.Reservoir Simulation task are undeniably hard but with extensive experience with Schlumberger during my internship, it can be handled more easily. This is a great opportunity for me, to utilized the knowledge and skills on Petrel, the reservoir simulator used for this projects. It shows that the 12 weeks experience in Software Integrated Solutions Segment (SIS), are very beneficial and valuable to me and the team. Thanks Schlumberger for the great experience!Overall, this Field Development Project (FDP) has show us a wide exposure on the real field application from exploration to development perspective of upstream sector.

Software Integrated Solutions, Reservoir Engineering Team. During my 12 weeks of internship, I was trained on the technical skills by using some of the Schlumberger's finest software and manuals. Here is the list of the software/manuals that I have learnt through:1) Petrel Reservoir Engineering2) Petrel Assisted History Matching & Uncertainty Analysis3) ECLIPSE Blackoil Reservoir Simulation I worked alongside the Reservoir Engineering team to create and converted new workflow templates for Petrel GURU. Some of the workflows are showing production bubble map in 2D/3D window, extraction and comparison of results in spreadsheet by cases, and finalizing movable oil map.
