Member of the Cohort Data Analytics Core at the NHGRI, which hosts numerous large-scale genotype and phenotype databases (e.g., All of Us, UK BioBank) and supports investigators' analyses of these datasets using informatics techniques.Some responsibilities include:- Conducting extensive Genome and Phenome-wide Association Studies (GWAS and PheWAS) to uncover genetic and phenotypic associations, utilizing statistical genetics techniques to analyze complex datasets, thereby contributing to the understanding of genetic contributions to diseases.- Optimizing and maintaining advanced bioinformatics pipelines for comprehensive whole genome sequencing data analysis and querying Electronic Medical Records (EMRs), focusing on single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and other genomic variations.- Providing robust programming and analytical support across a diverse range of bioinformatics and genomics research projects, employing a variety of programming languages and tools (e.g., R, Python, SQL, Shell Scripting) to develop and implement innovative data analysis strategies.- Crafting custom scripts to meticulously analyze both publicly available and in-house generated data, addressing specific research questions. Ensuring thorough documentation and efficient sharing of these scripts on platforms like GitHub, to facilitate collaboration and reproducibility.- Assisting research teams in the deployment and utilization of bioinformatics software, offering expert guidance on result interpretation, and summarizing key findings in a comprehensible manner for broader audiences.- Leading the drafting and submission of manuscripts that communicate project methodologies, data, and insightful findings to the scientific community, via peer-reviewed journals and conference abstracts.- Engaging in and managing multiple collaborative projects simultaneously, working effectively with other lab members and contributing to a productive and innovative team environment

• Member of a translational research team studying the effects of checkpoint blockade therapy and the tumor microenvironment in colorectal cancer (CRC) and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)• Multi-omics data analysis (bulk/single cell RNA sequencing) • Digital image analysis of whole tissue sections• Multi-color flow cytometry to analyze cells isolated from blood and tissues• IRB proposals and research grants• Oversight and management of CRC and NSCLC patient blood and tumor tissue banks (tumor histology, pathology, genetics and immunology) • Mentoring and training undergraduate students and incoming PhD students in lab bench work and analysis techniques along with general management of the research lab

• Screening and tracking CRC and NSCLC patients undergoing tumor resections using the Johns Hopkins patient database, EPIC• Analysis of tissue specimens in coordination with the pathology lab• Inventory of clinical trial tissue specimens for the GI SPORE • Processing of tissue specimens (normal and tumor tissues) for CRC-derived viable cell banking• Extracting and expanding tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) from the tumor tissue• Isolating, freezing, thawing of peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) • Flow cytometry (3 color) staining of PBMC and TILs• DNA/RNA isolation• Quantitative PCR• Cell culture of tumor cell lines• Tissue macrodissection
