Ana Vermal is a partner in the Litigation Department. She is a member of the International Arbitration and Latin America Practice Groups. Primarily based in the firm’s Paris office, Ana also regularly works out of the New York office.From 2018 to 2024, Ana sat on the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). In that capacity, Ana participated in the Court’s judicial supervision of ICC arbitrations, including the appointment of arbitrators, decisions on challenges against arbitrators and the scrutiny and approval of ICC arbitral awards.An Argentine and Spanish national, Ana is qualified to practice in both New York and Paris. She is fluent in English, French, Spanish and German. Having lived in Germany, Spain, the United States and France, Ana brings a truly multicultural and multilingual skills-set to her practice.Ana's practice focuses on complex international arbitration and litigation proceedings involving joint ventures, acquisitions, construction projects, licensing agreements and distribution relationships, as well as a variety of other international commercial agreements.Ana acts as counsel and arbitrator in international arbitrations involving corporations from the United States, Europe, Latin America, and Asia and held under the arbitration rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the American Arbitration Association’s International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), and also has substantial experience handling arbitrations under other international arbitration rules, including those of the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), the Japan Commercial Arbitration Association, the Swiss Chambers of Commerce and the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID).
