I love working with computers and software, they make life so much easier. This passion led me to pursuing a degree in BS Computer Engineering at the University of the Philippines Diliman. The new things I've learned made me want to figure out how to improve our daily lives even further with computers.This led me to UP Circuit, a student academic organization dedicated to serving the community through service and technology. I served as the Director for Partnerships and Campaigns, and there I learned how to coordinate with fellow organization members and other student organizations.I am in love with Backgammon: just like Chess, its computational complexity makes computer analysis hard and time-consuming, and you must see the patterns yourself to make good decisions. Unlike Chess however, Backgammon has an element of randomness that is more similar to how real life works. It teaches you to be humble and to be calm when the odds are stacked against you.As a way to put my two passions together, I put together a website called Glacier Gammon that provides free computer and human analysis of past backgammon matches. Through this website, I sharpened my knowledge of programming with HTML, JavaScript, Python, and Hugo. I am still working on this site, and I enjoy every moment.It is my personal achievement to have worked hard and met people that helped me put together my website, and I celebrate every morning that I wake up raring to take on the day's challenges.While studying for my degree, I am currently learning software quality assurance, and I am planning to get an ISTQB certification sometime soon.
