We grew to become one of the largest resellers in the country for Millbrook/Centricity. Our focus was on practice management and provider scheduling, outpatient surgery center management, electronic medical records, document management, voice recognition dictation/transcription, and systems for ambulatory care. Managed our team and each phase of communicating, marketing, selling, implementing, training, and providing ongoing support. I eventually sold my client base to a larger reseller.

Executive Director for HITArkansas, the Regional Extension Center for the state of Arkansas for the Office of the National Coordinator for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Primarily responsible for recruiting 1,280 primary care physicians/providers into this program to meet the terms of the organization’s federal grant. In the first two years of the grant, roughly 600 providers had been recruited. Lead, supervise, and mentor a 15 member team that exceeded our yearly goals in seven months. Other responsibilities included management and training of consultant staff. Their role was to help these newly recruited medical providers achieve “meaningful use” through the adoption and use of an EHR (electronic health records). I dealt with all facets of the program, including recruitment of providers, marketing strategy, implementation, oversight of services, assistance to help providers reach “meaningful use,” and development of sustainable business models.

Responsible for preparing, implementing, and overseeing the sales and marketing plan for the medical industry for the Little Rock, Arkansas, IBM branch territory. I was co-owned by IBM and an IBM business partner. The main solutions marketed and sold were practice management and scheduling software on the IBM 3X family of products, along with training and support. This included the hardware focus on the IBM system 36 and the IBM AS/400 along with PCs, peripherals, communications, and system software. Also responsible for seminars and trade shows on a quarterly basis. I made the Presidents Club 90-91.
