Responsible for tracking legislation for the Firm's clients in the 82nd Legislative Session at the Texas Capitol, including but not limited to legislation regarding:- Solar generation and distribution incentives in Texas- Agencies in the sunset process, specifically the Public Utility Commission, the Railroad Commission, and the Texas Department of Insurance- Health care overhaul, changes to the Texas Medical Board physician licensing procedures, and regulations of ambulatory surgical centers and accountable care organizations.Primarily responsible for maintaining relationships with each legislative office in the Capitol and advocating on a number of bills on behalf of the Firm's clientele.Primary legal focus:- Corporate and transactional law with a focus on healthcare law, including asset purchases and mergers & acquisitions, and legislative analysis of recent developments affecting broad areas of law. Notable cases:Acted as assistant corporate counsel throughout $7 million merger of healthcare center
