- Produced a research brief on the state of Opportunity Zones, a 2017 tax incentive program to bring development to lower income areas in Massachusetts and the US -- found that Gateway Cities in Massachusetts are still underdeveloped even with the Opportunity Zone tax incentive- Analyzed the social, political, and economic effects, ramifications, and inequities of the Covid-19 pandemic on different cities in Massachusetts, focusing on Gateway Cities- Interviewed three economic development local leaders from Fitchburg, Brockton, and Leominster, Massachusetts to obtain information on the state of economic development in their city- Learned and used Tableau to produce a 6 point story line describing my findings- Learned and used QGIS to exemplify the commonalities in the areas designated as Opportunity Zones, Gateway Cities, Transit-Oriented Development areas, and Transit Adjacent Development areas- Initiated plans for the 2021 Planning and Design Competition with TTOD and MassINC alongside supervisor Dr. Tracey Corley; shifted its gears to become a fellowship opportunity
