-Teach, facilitate, and plan nature based educational programs to a wide variety of audiences representing all backgrounds and ages including school and homeschool programs, summer camps, girl and boy scout programs, families, and early childhood groups.-Instruct such outdoor/wilderness skill programs as survival, camping, biking, cooking, snowshoeing, shelter building, canoeing, archery, fishing/ice fishing, GPS, orienteering, wild edibles, maple syruping, apple cider making, and beekeeping/honey harvesting-Instruct programs on such nature topics as pond studies, water quality, birding, migration, animal needs and animal homes, habitats, reptiles/amphibians, raptors, animal care, camouflage, predator/prey relationships, metamorphosis, winter ecology, seasons, insects, tree identification, nature themed art, and other similar topics. -Oversee and act as the lead naturalist for the “Tuesday Turtles” weekly drop-program for preschoolers during the school year.-Facilitate and plan monthly homeschool programs on different natural history and outdoor recreation topics to youth ages 5 to 8 and 9 to 13.-Assist with the care of captive barred owl and red tail hawk including food preparation, weight and health monitoring, using in educational programs, handling on a falconer’s group, and putting the raptors in their mews and outdoor enclosures.-Use puppets to help teach younger children and their families about various nature topics on an almost daily basis.-Teach outreach programs with Westwood’s mobile puppet theater, live animal collection, and raptors at schools and community events.-Write phenology articles for the quarterly volunteer newsletter.-Help plan and run Westwood’s popular annual Halloween party.-Provide mentoring and guidance to junior naturalists and volunteers.-Check campers and “Tuesday Turtles” in and out of camp/class.-Create and update nature exhibits.-Provide informal interpretation to visitors on a daily basis.

-Taught, facilitated, and hosted diverse groups representing all backgrounds and ages ranging from school and home school programs to summer camps to girl and boy scout programs to family camping to weddings and high school reunions.-Instructed survival, snowshoeing, American Indian games and technologies, shelter building, canoe, archery, ecology, rock climbing, fishing/ice fishing, pond, Minnesota animals, reptiles/amphibians, birds/owls, forestry, GPS, compass, and other programs.-Planned and taught public walk in programs to as many as 200 guests at the Baker Campground on Saturdays during the summer months. -Cooked meals for overnight groups.-Provided leadership, mentoring, and guidance to counselors and volunteers.-Set up for programs and cleaned our facilities.-Responded to emergencies and provided general assistance to rental groups.-Participated in seasonal staff trainings and provided input to my supervisor at the Settlement about concerns. or recommendations to improve programs and address problems.
