About Anders Laustsen

At present, I am doing a two-year Post doc at Department of Biomedicine, Aarhus University. The focus of my studies is within the field of immunology, medical microbiology and gene editing, with an emphasis on gene editing of immune cells. Here, my primary research is focused on understanding how plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDCs) develop, recognize pathogens and if we can use the cell type therapeutically. This includes development of new methods to generate pDCs from hematopoietic progenitor cells and gene editing of pDCs.My core competences includes:- Laboratory skills within cell culture, with an emphasis on primary cell culture and development of primary cells from hematopoietic stem cells.- Gene editing using the CRISPR/Cas9 system.- Extensive knowledge within functional and phenotypic assays to study cells, including immunoassays, bioassays, PCR/qPCR, Fluidigm, western blotting and Flow Cytometry.
