I started coding when I was 9 years old back in 1982 and I have worked with a plain silly number of languages and technologies out there since then, finally settling on the Microsoft .NET platform, C# and Azure as my main weapon of choice. Integration and automation have been on my daily agenda since the late 90's, so cloud computing came more or less naturally to me. It's kind of the old UNIX 'keep it simple' philosophy all over again.I have a clear vision about how I think a modern IT environment should behave - rock solid and event driven, with near real time response and automatic scaling. I strongly believe that Azure's serverless components like Logic Apps and Event Grid will cause a minor revolution in both cloud and hybrid solutions in the near future.A good number of years have been spent with Lotus Notes/Domino doing document management and web solutions, but focus changed gradually towards SharePoint and later on the full Office 365 platform. I took a break from coding for a couple of years, working with the administrative part of things just to get another perspective. It was a healthy exercise to install countless servers and learn the inner workings of virtualisation environments, but I also discovered it didn't make me happy in the long run.My brain is hard wired for problem solving and logic. I have been called stubborn and bull-headed a number of times, but I prefer to call it determined and goal oriented. I love good architecture and design (both in IT and the real world) and do my best to create solutions that are truly pieces of art.My main hobbies are photography (semi pro) and music. I'm a vocalist in both a choir and a quartet and also play the guitar from time to time.My favourite movie quote also says quite a lot about my personality:- Do, or do not. There is no 'try'.
