As the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Vellinge Wireless, my role was instrumental in spearheading the network design and planning of building networks for new customer areas. Vellinge Wireless, an Internet Service Provider (ISP), primarily leverages WiFi technology to reach customers over an expansive geographical area. Our commitment to delivering high-speed, reliable internet services led us to deploy a sophisticated network infrastructure.At Vellinge Wireless, we managed a network spanning a vast expanse between Malmö and Trelleborg, incorporating a total of 10 transmission towers. Each of these transmission towers served between 50-100 clients, offering customers the flexibility to subscribe to a range of connection speeds from 1 to 100 Mbit. Impressively, our network boasted a remarkable 16km long link that delivered a full duplex speed of 150 Mbit.Our main urban hub was situated in Vellinge, where we had a robust fiber connection to Tele2. From Vellinge, we established essential links to Haslov, Fuglie, Gessie, and Hollviken. These links were designed to offer remarkable throughput, capable of delivering up to 1.4 Gbps. This intricate web of high-speed connectivity served as the backbone for all data traffic, ensuring seamless and uninterrupted service for our customers.I was the primary point of contact for all network design and consulting needs, and clients could reach out to me at anders@vellingewireless.com. The solutions we provided were not just about delivering internet services but about crafting a seamless experience for our customers. My role as CTO was pivotal in shaping our technological infrastructure to meet the ever-growing demands for high-speed internet services and the evolving landscape of wireless technologies.
