About Anders Næss
Næss has a PhD in Sociology from the University of Oslo (UiO). In his dissertation, entitled "Migration, Super-Diversity, and Health: Studies on Immigrants' Health Care Integration in Norway," he drew on classical sociological theory to explore how immigrants' cultural norms and values pertaning to family, gender roles, and social organization intertwine with processes of health care integration, particularly with reagard to negotiations of health beliefs, behaviors, and health care-seeking practices.Næss earned his MA degree in Sociology-Anthropology at the American University in Cairo (AUC), where he was avarded the 2010 Frank G. Wisner Award for Scholarly Excellence for his thesis about elderly care in Cairo, Egypt. He has BA degree in Middle East Studies form the University of Bergen (UiB).
