TechnicalBy nature I’ve always been very technically minded, always wanting to figure out how things work. I’ve always been a ”hands-on” person, that preferred to build thing myself, instead of buying them. This has been very evident in my hobbies of building tube guitar amplifiers and effects, and in various projects like making my own customized controllers for beer brewing machines.Having finished educations in both music and teaching, and having taught math, physics, chemistry and music for about 10 years, has served to give me a thorough foundation to build on as an Electronics Engineer. It has also provided me with a solid ”mental toolbox” in both teaching and learning. (”A good teacher has to make complicated matters simple”).PersonalityI’m a thorough and disciplined person with high standards and expectations of myself. I do have a calm and warm personality though, and a somewhat geeky sense of humor, that mostly manifests itself after you get to know me. This does make me easy to be around, and work with.I’m not usually the first person to speak, but I do make my points when I believe they are important. If others are being too hesitant, I tend to take the lead.Patience and flexibility are important keywords. I prefer a ”loose” social atmosphere, where there is space for laughter and fun, while focus is still maintained. People are most creative, when they are in a good mood! Thus, figuring out how to lead students to both be focused and loose at the same time, has been a big point for me, all through my practice as a teacher.Finally, my experiences as both teacher and musician have served to give me unique solid skills in communication.
