As a founding partner of the Danish practice AART architects, I have had a senior management role in architecture for more than 15 years. I lead both strategic business development and the conceptual design approach that forms the basis for AART architects’ creative consultancy and internationally acclaimed projects, such as the Culture Yard in Elsinore, the Inspiria Science Center in Graalum, and the Waterfront residential development in Stavanger.From 2010 to 2014, I worked in Norway where I was in charge of the strategic planning of the New Østfold Hospital in Sarpsborg. In addition, I was in charge of establishing AART architects in Norway and building relationships with clients and business partners. By working across the Nordic national borders, I have gained a deep insight into the Nordic building industry and the social, political and macroeconomic factors that frame the business environment in each country.From an architectural perspective, I am motivated by exploring how architecture can contribute to society. I strive to synthesise aesthetics, function and context in designs for buildings and urban spaces that help meet the challenges that developers and society in general face. Thus, specialist knowledge and cross-disciplinary cooperation are deeply embedded in AART architects’ work.With the growing success of the practice, I now devote more time to strategic business development. I aim to create long-term value from markets through relationships. I monitor developments in the Nordic building industry and engage in dialogue with clients, business partners and public decision-makers. My focus is on building, managing and leveraging relationships that are based on a mutual appreciation of each other’s potential contribution, because this is essential to enabling the flow of value in the long term.
