Anders is a people leader and member of the Corporate Law Corporate Secretary group within the Enbridge Law Department, responsible for leading Enbridge legal teams that provide legal support to Enbridge’s Corporate Development Office’s pursuit of mergers, acquisitions, investments, divestitures, and joint ventures, including directing and coordinating outside legal counsel and inhouse legal and non-legal subject matter experts. Anders reports to Enbridge’s Vice President, Corporate Law & Corporate Secretary, and manages one Senior Legal Counsel (located in the company’s Calgary office) and one senior legal assistant (located in the company’s Houston office). In this role Anders led the Enbridge legal team in execution of 13 significant M&A transactions since February 2017. Anders was also (prior to its buy-in in 2018) Enbridge’s lead inhouse MLP governance lawyer regarding Spectra Energy Partners, LP (NYSE: SEP). SEP was one of the largest natural gas and crude oil pipeline MLP’s in the U.S. Anders is also Enbridge’s lead inhouse lawyer for providing legal support for Enbridge’s investment in DCP Midstream, LP (NYSE: DCP), which is managed through a general partner owned 50/50 by Enbridge and Phillips 66. DCP leads the midstream segment as one of the largest NGL processors, producers and marketers in the U.S.

Manager of the M&A and Contracts Group of the Legal Department: The M&A and Contracts Group was responsible for providing legal support to a number of corporate areas, including M&A, corporate development, MLP governance, JV governance, enterprise contracts, operations supply chain contracts, tax, antitrust, insurance, guarantees/credit, letters of credit, intellectual property, information technology (including cyber security), and aviation. Anders reported directly to Spectra Energy’s Deputy General Counsel – Corporate Services; and Anders managed two Senior Counsels.Lead inhouse M&A lawyer (Sept. 2007 - Feb. 2017): Anders was Spectra Energy’s lead inhouse M&A lawyer responsible for providing legal support to Spectra Energy’s Corporate M&A and Corporate Development groups in connection with acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, joint ventures, and other material complex transactions, including directing and coordinating outside legal counsel and inhouse legal and non-legal subject matter experts. In this role Anders led the Spectra Energy legal team in the execution of 20 significant M&A transactions since September 2007, including its $45 billion merger with Enbridge Inc. Anders was also Spectra Energy’s lead inhouse lawyer responsible for Spectra Energy’s 50% investment in DCP Midstream, LLC.

Member of the Duke Energy Legal M&A Group (Jan. 2000 - Sept. 2007): Anders provided legal support to Duke Energy’s Corporate M&A and Corporate Development Groups in connection with acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, joint ventures, and other material complex transactions, including directing and coordinating outside legal counsel and inhouse legal and non-legal subject matter experts. In this role Anders lead the Duke Energy legal team in the execution of 27 significant M&A transactions since October 1998, including the spinoff of Spectra Energy in 2007.Anders was the lead inhouse lawyer responsible for legal affairs at Duke Energy’s Communications Infrastructure Group (Jan. 2003 - Sept. 2007), including DukeNet Communications, LLC. In that role he provided general legal support to Duke Energy’s Communications Infrastructure Group, including responsible for legal aspects related to commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, litigation, M&A, and general corporate. DukeNet was Duke Energy’s wholesale fiber optic network services company that served wireless, local and long-distance communications companies, ISP’s and other businesses in southeastern U.S.Anders was the lead inhouse lawyer responsible for legal affairs affecting Duke Energy’s investment in Crescent Resources, LLC (Nov. 2004 - Sept. 2007). Crescent was Duke Energy’s real estate company that developed and managed award-winning country club communities, neighborhoods, apartment and condo communities, Class A office space, business/industrial parks and shopping centers in eastern and southwestern U.S.
