Currently, I’m a part of the Lending Operations department, specialising in mortgage application assessment. My role is to complete an in-depth assessment memo manually whilst validating supporting documents to complete my assessment. Predominately my workload is related to our Broker channel which currently makes up 70% of all inbound applications. I also assist our Lending team in assessing direct-to-bank applications and support scenario based questions with my knowledge of our Credit Policy and Income Matrix. My responsibilities include compiling a thorough assessment which determines an applicant’s current and future financial position whilst adhering to Responsible Lending guidelines. I am also required to manage my files to maintain the bank’s current SLA in which a credit decision is made whilst assisting our DLA/Credit Officers in achieving this decision. I liaise directly with Brokers day-to-day to support applications and future scenarios they may have, building relationships with key stakeholders in the process.
