I have been working at St. Charles Rehabilitation since graduation from Physical Therapy school. I evaluate, examine, treat, and create a POC for all populations of patients. The facility specializes in neurologically impaired patients, for example CVA, TBI, SCI, PD, and MS. I work closely with the Occupational Therapists and Speech Pathologist to create a plan of care that best benefits each patient. I also treat patients with orthopedic and post surgical diagnoses. I was responsible for examining, evaluating, and creating a plan of care for neurological, orthopedic, and post-surgical orthopedic patients. I completed online billing and documentation for patient care. I had the opportunity to observe Schroth technique as well as kinesio taping. Observed an open forum with St. Joseph's employees for patients choosing to undergo joint replacement, attended inservices, as well as presented an inservice on Complex Regional Pain Syndrome.

I completed my third clinical affiliation at this location. I was responsible for evaluating and treating patients in telemetry, critical care, ICU, and CCU. I discussed patient plan of care with the healthcare team and assisted in patient wound care. I completed all documentation and patient billing electronically and had the opportunity to observe a total hip replacement surgery. I presented an inservice on ergonomics in the healthcare workplace.

I completed my second clinical affiliation at this location. I was responsible for treating and evaluating orthopedic and neurological patients as well as completing all documentation and billing electronically. I presented an inservice on proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation.

East Meadow, Ny

I completed my first clinical experience at this location. I evaluated and treated orthopedic patients and documented their sessions on paper charts. I also presented an inservice on various home exercise programs relating to specific diagnoses.
