Team lead for the Futures and Foreign Exchange group in the migration from FMC Pacer to SimCorp Dimension through the UAT, cutover and post-cutover phases; coordinated the validation of SimCorp system functionality, converted data, inbound/outbound data-flow processes and management reports.

Assigned to the Mars Incorporated Data Warehouse department, I was on a 2 person team that provided Business Objects administration and support services to all of the North and South American business units.Responsibilities included: support and administration of the Business Objects application and servers, diagnosing and assisting in the resolution of IT infrastructure issues affecting the Data Warehouse and Business Objects.Tools and technologies used for this project were: Business Objects XI R2, Toad, Oracle 11g, PL/SQL, SQL*Plus, SQL, Excel, Word and Windows XP.

As a programmer/analyst assigned to the Shell Canada EP Blueprint project, I was responsible for extracting Plant Maintenance data from JDE and organizing it for loading into SAP, including records representing Work Orders, Functional Locations, Bills of Materials, Task Lists, Long Text Attachments, etc.Responsibilities included: meeting with business analysts, reviewing business requirements, creating source to target documentation, designing data cleansing operations, loading data into staging tables, and developing data transformation and reconciliation code.Tools and technologies used for this project were: AS/400 DB2, JDE One World, AS/400 Command Language (CL) and Job Scheduler (JS), Access, Excel, SQL, Perl, Unix Shell Script, and Windows 2000.

As a programmer/analyst assigned to the Shell Canada Data Warehouse department, I was responsible for designing, building and maintaining interfaces that transfer data periodically to and from numerous sources. I was required to analyze the structure and content of a given data source and then bring that data into the data warehouse organized in such a way to facilitate the creation of various Business Objects universes.Responsibilities included: meeting with business analysts, reviewing business requirements, creating source to target documentation, designing data cleansing operations, loading data into staging tables, developing data transformation and reconciliation code, and building Business Objects universes and reports. Met weekly with business analysts, system architects and programmers to propose and plan changes. Utilized a combination of data, file and operating system technologies to build reliable and efficient automated and ad-hoc data interfaces.

As the ETL Specialist assigned to the implementation of a Customer Information File (CIF) for Alberta Treasury Branch (ATB), I was responsible for the one time migration of customer account and personal data from each of ATB’s product focused banking systems. In addition, I am nearing the completion of an assignment to design, program and automate the ongoing transformation and loading of data from three separately managed business units: MasterCard, RESP and Wealth Management.

Led a 4 person team of programmer analysts in the extraction and conversion of data from three legacy systems: Oracle on Solaris, Oracle Financials on Solaris, and DB2 on AS/400 to be loaded into an enterprise-wide PeopleSoft Financials and CRM system.Responsibilities included: business requirements gathering and documentation, data modelling, data cleansing and extraction, report design and implementation, and testing. Developed numerous PL/SQL stored procedures, SQL statements and Perl/shell scripts to extract and convert legacy data into a PeopleSoft readable format. Reviewed code produced by team members for accuracy and efficiency before incorporating it into the main base of project code. Created a secure data transfer interface (AppEngine, rsync, Perl, Korn shell and cron) between the PeopleSoft Financials system and the Legal Aid Research website. Participated in a formal QA process assisting with review, promotion and migration of code between testing environments.

Designed a custom VisualBasic on Oracle 7 (client/server) Task Management System to replace a Tibco InConcert Workflow system. The new system incorporated reminders and activity logging into the existing province-wide customer management system, and also provided users with a 50-fold increase in response times over the old system which allowed users to enter and process 30% more customer application forms each day.Responsibilities included: business requirements gathering, proposing a system design, building the updated data model, coding and testing server-side PL/SQL modules, providing technical guidance to the VB programmers, converting data from the legacy Tibco InConcert workflow system, and delivering a comprehensive test plan consisting of user scripts and data reports.
