Anderson Javiel Dirocie De León is a Dominican international lawyer, academic, human rights advocate and independent consultant in Public International Law and International Human Rights Law. He is a PhD candidate in International Law at the Geneva Graduate Institute and holds an LL.M. from Harvard Law School (2023), an LL.M. in Advanced Studies in Public International Law from Leiden University (2018), and an LL.B. from the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) (2017). He has worked across three continents in several international courts and bodies, NGOs, and the Dominican Electoral High Court domestically. Passionate about both practice and academia, Anderson's contributions to legal scholarship are noteworthy. His work on topics of public international law, including sexual orientation and gender identity, international criminal law, and freedom of expression, has been published by esteemed institutions. He has also served on editorial teams for publications including Brill | Nijhoff’s International Organization Law Review and Harvard International Law Journal. In 2017, he was a member of the first Dominican team to participate in the ICC Moot Court competition in The Hague, Spanish version, achieving second place. Admitted to practice law in the Dominican Republic, he maintains memberships in several professional associations related to international law. He has received numerous awards in his country and abroad. He actively volunteers in academic events, promoting the work of the UN and International Law among young people, primarily through Model UN and moot court competitions. He writes opinion pieces for the Dominican press and participates in interviews on matters of public interest connected to his areas of expertise.
