For more than 30 years, Rick Anderson has been at the forefront of healthcare innovation. A visionary leader who is passionate about improving healthcare delivery, Rick has been part of several of the best-known and highly successful online health-related services. Rick currently serves as Co-Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Hive Health. Prior to The Hive Health, Rick served as Chairman of Ovation Hand Institute. Prior to Ovation. Rick served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Smart Choice MRI. He took on the role in 2014, identifying an opportunity to take a segment of the healthcare industry and turn it into what healthcare should be: affordable, accessible and accommodating. At the time Rick took the helm, Smart Choice MRI offered affordable MRIs at a single clinic in Milwaukee. After just a few years of Rick’s stewardship, Smart Choice MRI grew to a multi-million dollar company with 15 locations across 4 markets, In just three years, the company raised 27 million in capital from large academic healthcare systems and other investors who believed in Smart Choice MRI’s progressive model. The company was built to change the way healthcare is experienced, and ensure patients are treated as people rather than just numbers.Under Rick's leadership, the company had a successful exit in late 2020 when it sold to its largest competitor, CDI (now Rayus). Before joining Smart Choice MRI, Rick was one of the original team members and served as senior vice president of the pioneering health and wellness platform Sharecare. Rick spearheaded expansion and integration efforts, forging partnerships with key health networks. He was also one of the first five employees at WebMD and led business development efforts in the Western and Midwestern markets. Additionally, he served as an executive team member for a number of other healthcare businesses including QDS and Endeavor Technologies. Rick is committed to helping other businesses develop and is an active member of several Boards including healthcare transparency platform, Alithias and Ava Wines and Spirits. Rick earned his B.A. in history from Bethel University
