Los Angeles Valley College was one of 12 community colleges nationwide selected to receive part of a Department of Labor $15 million grant. The grant is part of a national effort to develop and expand bio-science workforce training for Under served, Under-represented and recently returned Veterans. The grant is administered through the Community College Consortium for Bio-science Training and the DOL Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College Career Training (TAACCCT).The Biotech Manufacturing Training Academy engaged my services to improve the recruiting quality & quantity of talent and conduct outreach to the business community for their intensive Biotech Manufacturing Technician Training Program. We sourced thousands of candidates, tested over 800, qualified and interviewed over 600; accepted over 400; placed 90% with a 95% retention rate.My role was to work with the college job training staff and grant administrators to identify and develop new recruiting & sourcing partners (Colleges, Trade Schools, WorkSource Centers, EDD Offices, Non Profit & Veteran Organizations).
