Developing business solutions to customers in Microsoft NAV and Business Central

I was hired to digitalize/automate a series of manual tasks for a major research project called LIFEPLAN, in the project’s main office in Uppsala, Sweden. Staff was spending considerable amounts of time on transferring data from field equipment to hard drives, exchanging printed documents to coordinate shipment of equipment. Over the course of the year, I worked with the following solutions:-Development of Powershell scripts that automated data manipulation and transfer from test equipment to a large AWS based server. -A mini-ERP Microsoft Access database system that allowed for coordinated packing of shipments, inventory management, printing of invoices and with a simple user interface that made it easy for staff to track each other’s progress and see what needed to be done. -Excel/Outlook/Word based solution that combined data from an Oracle SQL database and a web-based endpoint, generated by a combination of SQLcl and PowerShell, making it possible to mass-send emails based on auto generated information, saving the person who used to write every mail manually a lot of time.

My role was primarily to work with configuring a POS-system on a national clothes selling chain. I came on board almost at the beginning, where it had been decided what kind of system would be used, and untill the time development had ended and the system went operational. My task, among others, included:- 1st and 2nd line support of the system to both end-users and collegues- Administration of SQL and data replikations- Integrating the system with the customers Dynamics NAV solution- Setup of the POS-system, including creating touch interfaces, usermanuals and teaching. - Localization of the software into danish- Interaction with the POS partner, reporting errors and making changes in the C# code to eliminate glitches.
